I live in CT and my AOL was down, too, (apparently, a Frontier change-over problem) until I tried re-establishing the AOL Broadband Connection (like when AOL software is first downloaded)...AOL works fine, now.
Right click on the AOL icon on task bar; point to Connectivity; click on Connect Options; click on Create A Dial-Up Location; select Broadband/Other ISP, and go from there.
