Error message and can't access site. FREQUENTLY!!!

Often when I try to buy something on AMazon I get message "We're sorry. An error occurred when we tried to process your request. Rest assurred we're working on it and expect to resolve it shortly'.. I get this frequently , even with BRAND NEW COMPUTER.  Going on for about a year.  I called Amazon and cust svc said they never heard of this from anyone else.  What a crock.  The internet is full of the same report, and no answer from Amazon except form letters saying to expect an answer which never comes.
